High quality dance shoes are extremely durable but still need taking care of . To help with this, Werner Kern have supplied instructions on how to ensure your dance shoes stay in great condition.
Begin by wiping the shoes or brushing them down to remove any loose dust particles. To maintain the shine of the leather it is recommended that you apply shoe polish where necessary. Clear shoe polish is the best option as it will not affect the colouring of the leather. Just apply a thin layer and carefully rub off any excess after approximately 30 minutes.

The suede leather can be simply brushed down using a soft brush. The recommended options for this that are available to purchase from us are the Diamant Nubuck Brush or the Supadance Supasole Brush.

After each use, it is recommended that you wipe away any excess dirt with a cloth. Every 1-2 weeks it is suggested that you apply a patent polish. Using a soft sponge, thinly spread the polish onto the shoe and allow 30 minutes before wiping it with a cloth. The patent products that are available to purchase from us are the Supadance Silicone Polish Pad and Diamant Dance Shoe Care. We also provide Supadance Silicone Polish which prevents the patent from sticking together when they touch.
The brocade is a delicate material and may become detached if they are constantly coming into contact with other shoes. Our best recommendation to prevent this is to store the individual shoes separately to prevent them rubbing against each other.
The chevro material is made of laminated kidskin which means the colour is not dyed through. Because of this, unfortunately, scratches and scrapes cannot be removed. Ensure you wipe the shoes after each use and store the shoes individually to try and prevent marking.
A difficult material to keep clean as satin is renowned for collecting dust and dirt. Under no circumstances should you use a brush, rough sponge, or any aggressive cleaning products. Instead, it is recommended to be cleaned with a soft cloth and a small amount of water. If needed, you can add a small amount of colourless shampoo to the water. Ensure that you clean the entire shoe otherwise water marks will appear.
The suede soles of the dance shoes can wear over time or become flat and slippery. The best way to restore the sole is to use a roughening brush to remove the dirt and regain its original soft look. Alternatively, you can purchase a new pair of soles for your local cobbler to attach.

We supply replacement heel tips for the majority of they styles we sell. They are sold in pairs and are made specifically for the shoe who have purchased. It is recommended that you have them replace by your local cobbler and have both tips replace at the same time for the best result.
Like the heel tips, every heel has its very own matching heel protector to prevent the heel tip from wearing down over time. They are easy to apply – briefly warm them up using warm water or a hairdryer then attach them to the heel. In addition to protecting the heel tip, the heel protector provide improved adhesion of the heel to the dance floor which will reduce the risk of slipping.
